Pastor Rich MooreLiving God Lutheran Church welcomes Pastor
Richard Moore - December 2005.
Pastor Richard Moore was born and raised in the northern panhandle of West
Virginia. His call to ordained ministry took him through a host of
experiences from selling water softeners to being a radio disc-jockey before
earning a B.S. in Business in the summer of 1997, then attending The Lutheran
Theological Seminary of Philadelphia in the fall of that same year. The
most influential of his job experiences was the Children's Home of Wheeling,
where he was responsible for providing care and guidance to a group home for
youth. There he worked as a program director, and after six years, left to
attend seminary. He served for two years during seminary at St. Peter's
Lutheran Church in Lafayette Hill, PA. Pastor Moore was ordained on July
21, 2001 and was synodically appointed to Living Word Lutheran Church in Roslyn,
PA as a redevelopment pastor. Pastor Moore and his wife, Amy, reside in
their new home in Morgantown with their two cats. Amy is a business
professional, and works for a venture capital firm in Conshohocken.
They try to make the most of their free time by spending it together or by
maintaining relationships with family back in WV. Pastor Moore remains a
fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and also enjoys hunting, fishing, and biking.
