Raising Money to Help Fight Cancer, Living God Lutheran Church is hosting the second annual 24 hour trail walk to raise money for the American Cancer Society. We will begin Hiking 4 Hope on Friday, September 16th at 12PM (noon), and continue until Saturday, September 17th until 12PM (noon). We invite everyone who would like to take part in this unique event.

Hiking 4 Hope set up time will begin Friday, September 16th at 10:00am with the walk beginning at 12pm. At 7:00pm you can walk a Celebrate a Survivors Lap– an inspirational time when survivors are invited to walk the trail together and help everyone celebrate the victories being achieved over cancer. Starting at 9:00pm there will be a Remember Lap Ceremony– this lap is walked in silence, after dark, to honor those individuals who have been touched by cancer and remember loved ones lost to the disease during a Luminaria Ceremony. On Saturday at 11:00am the final lap of Hiking 4 Hope will be the Fight Back Ceremony– this lap is for individuals to make a personal commitment to do something as simple as a screening test, quitting smoking, or talking to their personal physicians about cancer research.

Are you interested in participating in the Hiking 4 Hope project? Everyone is welcome to walk the trail. Do you know others that would walk a wooded trail with you for 24hrs? Listed below is an outline of the event.

Please complete the initial online registration form below (or print out the registration/waiver form and mail to church) by Wednesday Sep 14, 2011. The final signed waiver must be completed prior to walk.

Each participant is encouraged to collect contributions for the American Cancer Society. (All checks are to be written to the "American Cancer Society")

All participants will bring their collected donation monies to LGLC on or before walk. All donations, signed waiver forms, and luminaria forms will be collected at this time.

A check list of suggested supplies is available below for those who are interested in spending the night on the church property.

Now it’s time to have fun, walk, and celebrate for 24 hours. Come for any or all of the 24 hours.

(Living God Church will be open the entire 24 hours of the scheduled event. Food will be sold at designated times during the event (all monies collected by the kitchen will be donated to the American Cancer Society) and restrooms are available the entire 24 hours of the event).
