Mission Statement

The mission of Living God is to be a Church for people who have no church: Open to all people seeking to love God by responding in worship, being changed by the Spirit, and willing to make a difference in the world.

Schedule

Regular Worship and Sunday School Schedule (see News & Events for schedule changes):

  • 8:00 AM - Worship Service
  • 9:15 AM - Adult Sunday School - meets in Kitchen
  • 9:15 AM - Choir Practice most every Sunday
  • 10:30 AM - Worship Service and Children's Church (for children through 8th grade)
    • Ages 0-3 meet in the Nursery during the entire service
  • 6:30 PM - Sweetwater Sabbath Service featuring bluegrass music

Summer Worship and Sunday School Schedule:

  • Dates & Times for the upcoming summer TBD
At this time there will still be two services over the Summer as above (8am and 10:30am).  Most Sunday School levels will not meet over the summer.  See the News & Events for more details when they become available.

Members are encouraged to use the "Member" cards located in the pew racks, to inform the Pastor of prayer or other concerns. Prayer Time at the Altar is available during the Pastoral Prayer and the Closing Song.

Our Worship Services

We normally have two worship services through most of the year.  Both services are similar in format.  We are currently experimenting with a third service on Sunday evenings featuring bluegrass music.

Nursery

We provide Nursery care for children ages 0-3 during the 10:30 service.

Sunday School

All children, ages 4 through those in 12th grade, can join in fun-filled, hands on learning. We have a dedicated Sunday school for the older children so they can attend the full service  A Children's Church for the younger children is held in conjunction with the 10:30 AM Worship Service, with the children being dismissed after the Children's Moment and returned prior to communion. We have talented, dedicated teachers and an exciting curriculum.

A dedicated Adult Class is held every week at 9:15 AM, studying contemporary issues.

Youth

A youth group meeting or event for those in Grades 6-12 is held once or twice monthly. We help our teens to grow spiritually through the jungle of modern life. Our teens also spend time hanging out together. New friends are always welcome.

For Spiritual Growth

We offer studies and seminars throughout the year, generally lasting for 6 - 12 weeks.  Adult Sunday School is the primary forum.

Musical Groups

Our adult choir meets between our two services and sings occasionally during the 10:30 AM service.  New members are always welcomed.

Fellowship Activities

Our church is active, featuring a number of fellowship activities when singles and families join together in Christian fun. Having fellowship together increases the warmth we feel toward each other. Activities include:

  • After church luncheons, Progressive Dinners, Outdoor Worship followed by a church picnic, Ice Cream Socials, and Pot-Luck Dinners.
  • Parties: Women's Tea, Church Birthday Celebration, Easter Egg Hunt, etc.
  • Game nights for all ages, BINGO

Caring for people in our community

We respond to Christ's call to care for the needy by participating in the following ministries.

  • Food Bank
  • Steeple to People
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Shoeboxes
  • Turkey Dinners
  • Sponsoring children around the world
  • Sponsoring refugee families

Community Involvement

We currently sponsor a Brownie Troop and Alcoholics Anonymous which meet weekly at LGLC. While we provide a place for them to gather, they give back to the church by helping during work days and special events.

Our People

God has blessed us with a wide range of special people attending LGLC. We have a balanced mix of the ages with many singles, young families and older couples. We have members who have moved here from all over the United States and members whose families have been in the area for generations. We believe we have something to offer everyone, no matter what their age or life situation.
